Leading with Excellence: A Career in Marine Corps Food Service
Carlos Sanabria dedicated 33 years to the U.S. Marine Corps, culminating in his retirement as Director of the Food Service and Subsistence Program in January 2011. His journey began in 1978 when he enlisted, embarking on a distinguished career filled with diverse food service assignments.
Proven Leadership and Expertise:
Commanded food service operations across various Marine Corps installations, including MCAS Tustin, Weapons and Field Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, 3rd Marine Division, MCB Camp Lejeune, MCB Camp Pendleton, and I MEF.
Deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines as the MNF-W food service officer, ensuring critical nutritional needs were met during combat operations.
Guided excellence as senior traveler for the MajGen W.P.T. Hill Awards for food service excellence in 2007 and 2009, recognizing outstanding achievements within the program.
Actively contributes to the industry through his membership in the National Restaurant Association Military Hospitality Sub Committee.
